I don’t know about you but I really love burlap in just about any home decor craft. This DIY burlap Valentine’s Day wreath will be perfect for your front door this Valentine’s Day. My mother-in-law really made this look easy, but once you get the hang of it, it is quick and simple.
Supplies you will need:
- Heart wreath template (got this one at the Dollar Store)
- Burlap Ribbon
- Wire Cutters
Grab the end of your burlap ribbon and fold it into each other. Tie your wire around the end of the burlap and then secure in at the bottom of your wreath on the inside section of the template.
Start by making a loop with your burlap and push the loop through the wires on the wreath template. Begin to pull it up through and twist it underneath and then loop it again and pull a new loop through another section. We just made sure we alternated pulling the loops through on both sides.
When you use up all of the burlap ribbon, secure it in place with wire and then continue with more ribbon. Keep going until the whole heart is covered. As you push and pull loops through you can also squish them all together and make it tight so it stays in place.
There you go, your heart is complete!
One last step! It is time to make your bow. Choose some ribbon, I chose to go with simple, soft colors like cream and light pink. Tie a bow using two pieces of ribbon, (I did one of each color) and then tie another bow on top. Pull apart the ribbon and then tie it to your wreath with wire.
Grab a door hanger, and put that cute wreath on your front door.
